Three-part performance on video, duration 3.25 min; 2.33 min
The visual and metaphoric polarity between light and dark is performed by a body that is denuding and unwinding from the bindings of everyday time. With time, the body expresses an unbinding movement, either twisting free, falling out or unravelling from a cloth that hangs from above and binds the body: the demarcations of time shown as slithers of white in the dark expanse of an unchanging landscape. It performs in a space in which neither light nor darkness is complete, whole or one on its own. What is light is light only as it emerges from darkness, and what is dark is dark only as it arises from light. The relation of mutual precondition between light and darkness is expressed as an embodied and embodying performance, while the relation is activated and visualized by the moving body in time.
